If you have been on this planet for more than a few years, you probably recognize what mold looks like and how it smells. Whenever there are mold spores in the air, the temperature is right, water is present, and there is food for the mold spores to eat, mold will grow. Sooo, if you see something that looks like mold, hunt down the source of the water that is promoting its growth. Once you've found and eliminated the source of water, you can begin cleanup (or hire someone to clean it up).
If you're involved in a real estate transaction, you'll probably want to test—we can do that for you. We will test the air and/or take a direct sample off a surface. To do the air testing, following EPA protocol, we'll take one air sample outside (each sample takes about ten minutes) as a baseline and then take air samples inside in your areas of concern. The samples then go to the lab—and we get results back in about 2 business days. Questions? Just ask!
